Archives/Archivos We were on a hike in the desert along the Colorado River. Most of the days, there was not a soul in sight. Now desert sun and hefty backpacks can combine to create lots of sweat and a longing for something cool to the taste. I know what it was to stand alone (over 35 years ago) when I called for action—not words—in support of Jews and Israel when hate was aimed their way. Now I sense God telling me again “you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this.” Look back and see what your Heavenly Father has already brought you through. Then face each of your "todays" knowing that your deepest waters and most intense flames will not be allowed to drown or consume you... I was a Marine having just arrived on a tiny Pacific island called Okinawa. That's when Jesus came to me in my emptiness and loneliness and became so real I thought I was touching Him. We have reached thousands of lives in many journeys to Argentina.... Those who enlist in God's army will find themselves at war, and spiritual warfare can be far more intense than the greatest battles fought with human weapons. The size of the universe is unknown. Yet Dr. Wernher Von Braun, the rocket scientist, says; "The idea of an orderly universe is inconceivable without God - the grandeur of the cosmos confirms the certainty of creation. One can't be exposed to the law and order of the universe without becoming aware of a divine intent." Gone were 20 years of human hopes, desires and plans. Perhaps a future in construction. Or law enforcement. Or a shot at politics. It all changed when God let me see His heart for people. The pull for reputation and riches was replaced by “Here am I, Lord. Send me.” It is up to you and me to want to know the living God more than anything in life. It is up to the Lord to make Himself known. It is up to us to want to both hear and obey Him. It is up to the Holy Spirit to make His voice real. Any deep relationship is built through quality time spent together. How is your spiritual growth proceeding? Are you learning fresh truths in daily devotions that you put into practice in daily living? Is the Holy Spirit taking you into deeper levels of personal repentance as you view yourself in light of what Jesus did for you? Are you gaining a general knowledge of the major truths and doctrines of the faith so that no false teaching can pull you from God's path? |
