The Action Report October 2008 My friend, It is an awesome thing to behold the presence of God fall like invisible rain on a great mass of people. And when the Holy Spirit seems to propel them from their seats as they rush forward by the hundreds to offer Jesus Christ their spirits, souls and bodies, the atmosphere is literally electric. Then a more visible, close-up, miracle occurs. Masses are made up of individuals�and God counts people one by one. And there she is�another Mary Magdalene�still young and beautiful, but a hopeless alcoholic trying to drown her broken, confused heart. And so you pray with this Argentine �Maria� and she is radiantly born anew. So much so, that she comes to the next services as a testimony to the power of God breaking her chains and His tender love for every individual on the planet. My translator and fellow board member, Walter Contreras, and I just returned from the frozen Patagonia in southern Argentina. I speak Spanish quite well, and can preach and teach some in this beautiful language. But ministering to great crowds of seeking hearts is no time to practice my Spanish. Walter is an Argentine, and the best translator there is. The Holy Spirit uses us as a team, as His power produces results that cause us to stand in awe of God. While it may appear to be �hell�s time� as Satanic forces infect the whole earth, it is really �harvest time� as God�s Spirit pierces hearts and transforms lives. Sometimes, it happens by the hundreds as in Argentina�or India�or Africa. Other times it is smaller numbers like one by one or in small groups as in Israel. But we always stand stunned at the miracle of God creating new creatures right before our eyes! And we never have to say good-bye. After all, look what man himself is capable of doing with the atom and hydrogen bombs. Now
the fear is that nuclear weapons are being placed in the hands of madmen who wish to annihilate
their enemies. God has blessed man with incredible genius. We stand in awe as we watch men and women in a room full of computers and high-tech instruments guiding and landing spacecraft on distant planets. At that moment, we appear invincible. But then a mammoth tornado comes—or a terrifying hurricane—or rains that flood whole regions and never listen to our shouts to “Stop!”—or the shake that removes from under our feet any confidence or pride we carry, and leaves us numb with hardly enough breath to even utter the paralyzing word “EARTHQUAKE!”. And man is helpless in the face of it all! |
