The Action Report July 2009 My friend, God's time clock called "ISRAEL" continues to tick. Mere men are saying three things. The Creator of the universe says three other things. WHAT MEN ARE SAYING1. "We will wipe Israel off the map." (Islamic extremists) 2. "Physical Israel is illegitimate. Christians are the real Jews and the church is Israel. (Replacement Theology which, sadly, even many evangelicals believe to be true.) 3. "Israel stands in the way of world peace. We must force her into concessions, whether Jews like it or not." (USA and world politicians) WHAT THE SCRIPTURES ARE SAYING1. "If heaven above can be measured…I will also cast off all the seed of Israel" Jeremiah 31:37 (Measure the universe? No chance!) 2. "But Zion said, The Lord has forsaken me, and my Lord has forgotten me. Can a woman forget her sucking child…yes, they may forget, yet will I (God) not forget you (Israel). I have engraven you upon the palms of my hand." Isaiah 49:14-16 (The Church has often forgotten Israel. God never forgets.) 3. "That which comes into your mind shall not be at all, that you say, We will be as the nations…to serve wood and stone…I will cause you to pass under the rod, and I will bring you into the bond of the covenant." Ezekiel 20:32, 37 (God says His is the only road to peace-in Jewish hearts and in the land of Israel. That was the purpose of the coming of the Messiah-Jesus. Christians are to open our arms to the Jewish people in unconditional love and support but never to curry favor at the cost of denying that Jesus is Savior and Messiah who alone is the real hope of Israel.) Antisemitism lurks. Hatred of Israel (and of the God of Israel) can be felt, heard and seen. That is one reason I'm glad Shalom will again be in the East where we can impact more of the major cities of America and be closer to Israel. While it is true that many Jewish leaders reject my belief that the real Jesus is good news for all people, they respect me for my actions and integrity. Now God’s description of how He will destroy the old earth and create a
new one makes perfect sense. The splitting of the atom turned many skeptics into believers.
After all, look what man himself is capable of doing with the atom and hydrogen bombs. Now
the fear is that nuclear weapons are being placed in the hands of madmen who wish to annihilate
their enemies. God has blessed man with incredible genius. We stand in awe as we watch men and women in a room full of computers and high-tech instruments guiding and landing spacecraft on distant planets. At that moment, we appear invincible. But then a mammoth tornado comes—or a terrifying hurricane—or rains that flood whole regions and never listen to our shouts to “Stop!”—or the shake that removes from under our feet any confidence or pride we carry, and leaves us numb with hardly enough breath to even utter the paralyzing word “EARTHQUAKE!”. And man is helpless in the face of it all! |
