The Action Report Agust 2010 August 1, 2010 My precious friend, My call is to take God's love to the world. But sometimes I think my heart will break in two. Over "How long, Lord? Until they finally see the beauty of Jesus and realize that those who despised them in Christ's name really despised the beautiful Savior who came as a Jew. "How long, Lord, must "How long, Lord, must Your chosen people die one by one - most of them without the sweetest name I know - Jesus - on their lips as they step into eternity? "How long, Lord, until that mysterious veil is removed and all of "And how long, Lord, until we Christians-who claim to know you-awaken to our miserable ignorance of the love you have for 'the apple of Your eye' - the Jews? Will we ever wake up? Will we suffer such persecution that we will know what it is to be alone - like Jews have been alone? Or will You finally open their eyes to Your magnificent Son even while ours' remain closed - until we stand before the judgment seat of Christ and finally realize our failure to pray and care for the least of these Your brethren?" While I reach out to the world, this is a cry I cannot shake. A groaning that never goes away. Is it your heart, also? If not, will you let it be? Please help Shalom carry this prayer near and far. After all, look what man himself is capable of doing with the atom and hydrogen bombs. Now
the fear is that nuclear weapons are being placed in the hands of madmen who wish to annihilate
their enemies. God has blessed man with incredible genius. We stand in awe as we watch men and women in a room full of computers and high-tech instruments guiding and landing spacecraft on distant planets. At that moment, we appear invincible. But then a mammoth tornado comes—or a terrifying hurricane—or rains that flood whole regions and never listen to our shouts to “Stop!”—or the shake that removes from under our feet any confidence or pride we carry, and leaves us numb with hardly enough breath to even utter the paralyzing word “EARTHQUAKE!”. And man is helpless in the face of it all! |
