My precious friend,

It was a Jew named Abe Schneider who planted in me a passion for intimacy with God.  And now around 50 years later, this passion is still what drives my life and focuses my teachings.  Fall in love - deeply in love - with Jesus, and anything can happen.  For when we are in love with our Lord, we will want to introduce Him to everyone.

Oh how Abe touched my life!  A woman on his bakery route led him to his Messiah.  Abe's brothers, with the mother's blessing, drove from New York to Los Angeles to "beat this Jesus nonsense out of Abe".  They beat him but received only love in return.  Abe's mother walked into the church he attended and began to slap his face while screaming "You don't belong here!"  People in the congregation said Abe's face "glowed like an angel".  Finally, his wife left Abe and took the children.  Yet nothing could shatter the love affair between Jesus and Abe.

Abe spent entire nights alone in prayer and worship.  And at each funeral service he performed he would say, "I'm jealous because he (the person who died) is with Jesus and I'm still here."  And we knew that he meant it!  I never met anyone who loved the Savior like this humble Jew.

He brought others to Christ everywhere and had me memorize Isaiah 53.  His wife remarried multiple times but knew no peace.  As she lay dying of cancer, Abe led Ida to the Messiah.  And the mother who slapped him!  I met her at a Christian rally.  Abe had won her to the Lord and her face was shining.

Abe's last days were spent praying with other seeking souls in a hospital where he had gone with chest pains.  They found his body in the corridor after he had checked himself out.  Finally Abe was with the Lord he adored.

I use his example often.  With pastors and leaders who come to me for mentoring.  With Jews who must pay a price to love Yeshuah in the face of opposition.  With young "Joshuas" who need a true example of choosing Christ above anything or anyone.

Your prayers and gifts keep us in action.  May the Lord use you this month to help supply our many needs.  And as you help Shalom, may God bless you in return.

Yours to reach other "Abe Schneiders",

Jesus said many would come in His name and deceive the hearts of the simple, sinful and proud. Eastern mysticism and meditation is a big thing in the gullible West. And one day a “world leader” will appear on the scene with the persuasion of a god and the heart of a devil. Jesus warns His children to know the Scriptures, live in obedience to the Father’s will, and stay alert to the signs of the times.
They laugh no more. Now God’s description of how He will destroy the old earth and create a new one makes perfect sense. The splitting of the atom turned many skeptics into believers. After all, look what man himself is capable of doing with the atom and hydrogen bombs. Now the fear is that nuclear weapons are being placed in the hands of madmen who wish to annihilate their enemies.
God has blessed man with incredible genius. We stand in awe as we watch men and women in a room full of computers and high-tech instruments guiding and landing spacecraft on distant planets. At that moment, we appear invincible. But then a mammoth tornado comes—or a terrifying hurricane—or rains that flood whole regions and never listen to our shouts to “Stop!”—or the shake that removes from under our feet any confidence or pride we carry, and leaves us numb with hardly enough breath to even utter the paralyzing word “EARTHQUAKE!”. And man is helpless in the face of it all!
