No false promises that you'll turn out rich
Precious friend,
My hero-Paul-had it right.
The Jews could not say, "Paul is only targeting us-like we are more lost than Gentiles."
And Gentiles could not say, "The gospel of Jesus is only for us. The Jews are left out."
No, Paul had it straight from the Lord. "To the Jew first-and also to the Gentile." In every city, he first offered the love of the incomparable Messiah to Jews. Then to Gentiles. And though he was God's apostle to the pagan world, he alone in the New Testament was willing to be a curse if only his Jewish nation would be saved (something only Jesus, Yeshua, could do on the Cross).
Yes, Paul is my hero-especially now as my years accumulate.
And though my physical endurance has slowed a bit, the fire within still burns hot. A great door has opened to reach the youth of Spain. Walter Contreras and I leave next month, God willing. I ask for your prayers.
The journey is costly. We always try to take extra funds for people who are in great need. We never accept offerings or other financial gifts on foreign fields so that no one can say, "They came here for money." Our testimony has been clean, and Christian leaders have always said, "They came here for souls-because they really love us." (I'm not putting down others who minister differently. This is simply God's path for Shalom.)
It is you-my friends, colleagues and partners-that I ask to share the financial load and send us forth as your representatives. Look back over the years at my monthly letters to you. No begging for money. No gimmicks to obtain it. No false promises that you'll turn out rich. Just the plain truth that we need your help. And always the simple prayer that God will bless you in His own loving way for your support.
Two thousand years ago, Paul said, "When I take my journey into Spain, I will come to you" (Romans 15:24). Now we hear the call to carry the Cross and its life-changing message to this ancient land. Will you pray for us? And will you help fund this journey and all the other ministries we carry?
I appreciate you so much,
Frank Eiklor
Jesus said many would come in His name and deceive the hearts of the simple, sinful and proud. Eastern mysticism and meditation is a big thing in the gullible West. And one day a “world leader” will appear on the scene with the persuasion of a god and the heart of a devil. Jesus warns His children to know the Scriptures, live in obedience to the Father’s will, and stay alert to the signs of the times. They laugh no more. Now God’s description of how He will destroy the old earth and create a
new one makes perfect sense. The splitting of the atom turned many skeptics into believers.
After all, look what man himself is capable of doing with the atom and hydrogen bombs. Now
the fear is that nuclear weapons are being placed in the hands of madmen who wish to annihilate
their enemies. God has blessed man with incredible genius. We stand in awe as we watch men and women in a room full of computers and high-tech instruments guiding and landing spacecraft on distant planets. At that moment, we appear invincible. But then a mammoth tornado comes—or a terrifying hurricane—or rains that flood whole regions and never listen to our shouts to “Stop!”—or the shake that removes from under our feet any confidence or pride we carry, and leaves us numb with hardly enough breath to even utter the paralyzing word “EARTHQUAKE!”. And man is helpless in the face of it all! Back To Archives |
