WHERE JUDGMENT BEGINS (PART 2)

"At The House Of God”

INTRODUCTION

Something good is coming out of something bad. The bad is a world crashing all around us. The good is that many Christians are waking up and realizing that we had better get serious about the things of God.

Persecution against serious followers of Jesus is not coming. It’s already here—around the world and growing in America. Argue about the when and how of the rapture of the church all you want. But watch what happens when you "walk Jesus” with a holy life and "talk Jesus” with a bold witness. You will experience your own personal "tribulation” (John 16:33) from some people, while bringing great joy, hope and love to others.

As I journey across the USA and the world, pastors and other Christian leaders are calling out for help. They sense God’s judgment has already begun in the house of God. Why? Because Christ loves His church and He is showing us where we have left His pathway to walk our own.

In our last lesson, we shared God’s heart for Israel and His insistence that Christians embrace His love for the Jews. Now we add more areas where many believe the Holy Spirit is calling for us to repent.

2) WE HAVE SUBSTITUTED MORE PROGRAMS FOR LESS EVANGELISM

Look around you. How many fellow Christians are bringing people to Christ in their own personal worlds? How many even know how to witness and share their testimonies with others?

We have programs to cover every need, but few soul winners to cover the greatest need—winning the lost to Christ. We are a church of "Marthas”—careful about many things but missing the heart.

But many shepherds are awakening to the fact that many bodies warming pews are no substitute for many feet filling shoes and going forth to share the gospel everywhere. "Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men”, Jesus told His first followers (Mathew 4:19). He is saying the same today. If we’re following, we’ll be fishing.

There are many spiritual gifts given by God. But there is no "gift of witnessing”—because confessing Jesus to others is the privilege and responsibility of every believer. Just fall deeply in love with Jesus and you will see that introducing Him to others is as normal as breathing.

Jesus said many would come in His name and deceive the hearts of the simple, sinful and proud. Eastern mysticism and meditation is a big thing in the gullible West. And one day a “world leader” will appear on the scene with the persuasion of a god and the heart of a devil. Jesus warns His children to know the Scriptures, live in obedience to the Father’s will, and stay alert to the signs of the times.
They laugh no more. Now God’s description of how He will destroy the old earth and create a new one makes perfect sense. The splitting of the atom turned many skeptics into believers. After all, look what man himself is capable of doing with the atom and hydrogen bombs. Now the fear is that nuclear weapons are being placed in the hands of madmen who wish to annihilate their enemies.
God has blessed man with incredible genius. We stand in awe as we watch men and women in a room full of computers and high-tech instruments guiding and landing spacecraft on distant planets. At that moment, we appear invincible. But then a mammoth tornado comes—or a terrifying hurricane—or rains that flood whole regions and never listen to our shouts to “Stop!”—or the shake that removes from under our feet any confidence or pride we carry, and leaves us numb with hardly enough breath to even utter the paralyzing word “EARTHQUAKE!”. And man is helpless in the face of it all!
