WHERE JUDGMENT BEGINS PART 5
"At The House Of God"
INTRODUCTION
Before God can wake up the world, He has to shake up His Church. And in these end-of-time days, that is what is happening. I just talked with a Christian who said two more congregations have lost their church buildings to the poor economy. The get rich prosperity teaching is in trouble. So are Christians who believed and taught that revival would come without persecution. The fact is that it is the evangelical Christians who are often mocked in the media, politics and among the "intellectual elite."
Jesus Christ is shaking His Church and calling us to repentance for our lukewarm choices that have resulted in wrong priorities. Judgment has begun at the house of God-us-and it's a proof of God's love for us.
We are sharing ten areas where the Lord is making changes in the Church. The first four discussed God's heart for Israel, His call to witnessing and the Holy Spirit's (not ours) rule over His gifts and manifestations. Now we move on.
NUMBER FIVE-HEALING THE FRACTURED BODY OF CHRIST
If Christians ever get to loving each others, praying for each other and working with (instead of against) each other, the world will see our unity, Jesus' prayer "that they all may be one" will be answered. Imagine! No more cutting each other apart over end-time prophecy. Or over "once saved always saved" vs "you can be saved and fall away". Or what defines the fullness of the Holy Spirit. Or many other points of differing convictions.
In countries of persecution, many Christians have learned to embrace each other as brethren and still keep their different views on doctrinal teachings. They unite in the one essential "you must be born again" and the great command to love one another.
Can this happen to us? It already is, as Christians unite in prayer for God to heal His fractured Church. His will is clear for every true follower of Jesus: "Endeavoring (that takes effort) to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body (many denominations) and one Spirit...one Lord, one faith, one baptism: one God and Father of all (not just my movement or church affiliation), who is above all, and through all, and in you all (wow! Even those whose views may differ from mine!) (Ephesians 4:3-6, parentheses obviously mine).
We can cooperate with the Holy Spirit in reaching out to every brother and sister who has repented of sin and placed their faith in Jesus alone. That will help bring healing to the body of Christ-and greater joy to our hearts.
