The Action Report
“Lord, am I too young for You to use?”
By Frank Eiklor and the Shalom Team

“Once I was young”, said King David “and now I am old.” He must have had me in mind. Once I said, “Lord, am I too young for You to use?” Now I ask, “Lord, am I too old for you to use?” But then God answers me through His Word. He spoke through Balaam’s donkey. And He chooses the “foolish,” the “weak,” the “nothings” to show off His power and to guarantee that only God gets the glory. So I answer, “Thanks, Lord Jesus, I still qualify.”

Then He opens the biggest door we have ever seen—to preach the Word in over 150 countries on this planet! And He gives fresh courage through His saints.

“I used to live in the Boston area many years ago after college, and I heard Frank Eiklor on WEZE Boston, your broadcast. I have since been away from the area. I even forgot who you were and your name.

“Last night before I went to sleep the Lord dropped your name into my head. When He does that, it means I am to pray for that person. So I did. Again at 4:00 a.m. this morning I was awakened and given your name. I was too sleepy and started to sleep again, but I heard the voice of a Trumpet and I had to wake up to pray for you Frank Eiklor.

“I prayed until He released me. I thought you might want to know how much the Lord loves and cares for you. I looked you up on the internet tonight and thought I should let you know that the Lord is on your side. Sincerely, Pamela…”

So what do I do with such a letter? (I’ll share more letters later.) I drop to my knees and let the tears fall at Jesus’ feet.

Then it’s time to rise again and hold forth His Word of Hope to a battered beaten, bloodied world.

And to stand in awe at the ability of the Holy Spirit to still change lives today like He did in the Book of Acts. I know that it couldn’t—it wouldn’t—happen without your prayers and support. So we’re in it together!

Hoping to hear from you soon,

Frank

Jesus warns His children to know the Scriptures, live in obedience to the Father’s will, and stay alert to the signs of the times.
They laugh no more. Now God’s description of how He will destroy the old earth and create a new one makes perfect sense. The splitting of the atom turned many skeptics into believers. After all, look what man himself is capable of doing with the atom and hydrogen bombs. Now the fear is that nuclear weapons are being placed in the hands of madmen who wish to annihilate their enemies.
God has blessed man with incredible genius. We stand in awe as we watch men and women in a room full of computers and high-tech instruments guiding and landing spacecraft on distant planets. At that moment, we appear invincible. But then a mammoth tornado comes—or a terrifying hurricane—or rains that flood whole regions and never listen to our shouts to “Stop!”—or the shake that removes from under our feet any confidence or pride we carry, and leaves us numb with hardly enough breath to even utter the paralyzing word “EARTHQUAKE!”. And man is helpless in the face of it all!
