The Action Report
Nazis, Jesus, and You
By Frank Eiklor and the Shalom Team

I used to get the chills when I interviewed many of them.

Now they are almost all gone. Yes, the survivors, rescuers—and perpetrators—during the Holocaust have mostly died. It’s getting easier now for evil minds to sow doubt in young people that the wholesale slaughter of six million Jews and millions of others ever happened.

Instead of “Why” or “How” did it happen, subtle and sinister voices will be teaching “Did it even happen?” as time dulls history and Jews and Israel are singled out again for special hate. This is already on the rise.

I also am growing older and will one day leave planet earth. But while I am still here, I must teach the world’s young people the truth of the hell-holes I have personally experienced at Auschwitz, Treblinka, Babi Yar, Dachau and other death factories where blood still cries, and bones still wash up, from the ground.

Today’s world is again being programmed to accept the suffering and death of millions in our own time as “not my pain or problem.”

That was me before my encounter with Jesus Christ.

But what a difference Jesus makes. When I stood at the torture cells at Auschwitz, I heard a story that helped fill me with resolve to never be silent in the face of evil aimed at others. Maximilian Kolbe was a Christian prisoner at Auschwitz. After a prisoner escaped, the Nazi S.S. selected ten men for execution. One, a husband and father of six children, pled to be spared.

Kolbe asked the Nazi officer to take his life instead and allow the man to live.

His bold request was granted. Kolbe starved to death in a cell forever hallowed by God’s grace and courage exhibited in this man. The man whose place he took survived the war to tell the story. I made a fresh dedication of my life as I stood outside that cell.

Now, through the power of video and the Internet, I can speak to many young (and older) lives around the world. And what a responsibility I feel as I envision those almost 200 countries that can view “HisChannel.com” and hear my voice on our “MORE THAN TALK” telecasts. Darkness is merely an absence of light.

And by God’s grace and power, we have a lot of light to send!

Thanks for your prayers and support,

Frank

Now Jews see Him in us when we serve and defend them with unconditional love and tell them our Source – Jesus. And our Lord (now living in you and me) doesn’t avoid Muslims. He approaches them with love, hope and the assurance of eternal life, because that’s what they find in us.
