The Action Report "My Body is in Prison, but my Soul is Free"... “MY BODY IS IN PRISON BUT MY SOUL IS FREE.”
Josef is a believer in Jesus who is on the run for his life in
Josef’s brother-in-law even offered a reporter $20,000 to learn of his hiding place—and also intends to kill Josef’s three year old child.
Josef hides in a 10-by-10 foot room of stone and crumbling earth. His few earthly possessions include a worn blue Bible and wooden cross with a passage from the Sermon on the Mount written on it.

A friend has dared to hide him, risking his own life. My heart broke when I read Josef’s final words in this incredible story: “My body is in prison but my soul is free.”
I answered the article with a letter to the editor which was printed. As a Christian, I challenged the California Muslim community—which claims to love peace—to march in protest against this evil done in the name of their faith.
I said I would march with them. So far, only silence.
Our telecast reaches over 150 countries—and all of man’s religions. Many who will turn to Jesus will suffer persecution and death. That is the martyr call—and Josef is our brother. Pray for him. Pray for the many Muslims who are meeting the living Christ. Pray for our telecast as it spans borders, cultures and religions with the words people cry for:
“JESUS LIVES!”

After all, look what man himself is capable of doing with the atom and hydrogen bombs. Now
the fear is that nuclear weapons are being placed in the hands of madmen who wish to annihilate
their enemies. God has blessed man with incredible genius. We stand in awe as we watch men and women in a room full of computers and high-tech instruments guiding and landing spacecraft on distant planets. At that moment, we appear invincible. But then a mammoth tornado comes—or a terrifying hurricane—or rains that flood whole regions and never listen to our shouts to “Stop!”—or the shake that removes from under our feet any confidence or pride we carry, and leaves us numb with hardly enough breath to even utter the paralyzing word “EARTHQUAKE!”. And man is helpless in the face of it all! |
