Lesson 156 - BITS OF WISDOM FROM AN OLD WARRIOR (PART 10)

Memorizing Important Scripturescontinued

We have almost completed the challenge.  I am giving you approximately 70 Key scripture verses that every mature Christian should memorize and retain.  Two more assignments will follow this one – twelve in all.  You will always face tests, trials and temptations.  The Holy Spirit will use these memorized verses to make you an overcomer in every battle you must fight. Go to work. Don’t say “I can’t”. Philippians 4:13 says that you can!

42) We all need God's help when making decisions and needing direction. Here is His promise to you:

James 1:5 “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach,

and it will be given to him."

43) Always remember that true faith will be followed by obedience.

James 2:17 "Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead."

44) Two things are necessary to conquer evilsurrender to God and resisting Satan.

      in the Name of Jesus

James 4:7 “Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you."

45) Christ has made you a new creation. So live like one in a dark world where you are to shine as a light.

1 Peter 2:9 "But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that

you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light."

46) A life lived in Christ's love and integrity will be noticed by others. Be ready to give your testimony to others when you

      have that opportunity.

1 Peter 3:15 "But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a

reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear."

47) What a promise when we are tempted to fear, worry or panic!

1 Peter 5:7 "Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you."

48) How do we grow in grace and knowledge? By studying and meditating DAILY on God's Word and walking in obedience

      to Scripture.

2 Peter 3: 18 "But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now

      and forever. Amen."

Jesus said many would come in His name and deceive the hearts of the simple, sinful and proud. Eastern mysticism and meditation is a big thing in the gullible West. And one day a “world leader” will appear on the scene with the persuasion of a god and the heart of a devil. Jesus warns His children to know the Scriptures, live in obedience to the Father’s will, and stay alert to the signs of the times.
They laugh no more. Now God’s description of how He will destroy the old earth and create a new one makes perfect sense. The splitting of the atom turned many skeptics into believers. After all, look what man himself is capable of doing with the atom and hydrogen bombs. Now the fear is that nuclear weapons are being placed in the hands of madmen who wish to annihilate their enemies.
God has blessed man with incredible genius. We stand in awe as we watch men and women in a room full of computers and high-tech instruments guiding and landing spacecraft on distant planets. At that moment, we appear invincible. But then a mammoth tornado comes—or a terrifying hurricane—or rains that flood whole regions and never listen to our shouts to “Stop!”—or the shake that removes from under our feet any confidence or pride we carry, and leaves us numb with hardly enough breath to even utter the paralyzing word “EARTHQUAKE!”. And man is helpless in the face of it all!
