Lesson 181 - IF YOU LOVE JESUS, YOU'RE HIS AMBASSADOR! (PART 1)
By Frank Eiklor and the Shalom Team

The New Testament is the full revelation of God's redemptive purposes—the birth, life, death, resurrection and ascension of Jesus Christ.  His total rulership yet awaits the future.  The command to preach this gospel—good news—can be seen from Matthew through Revelation.  For the follower of Jesus, the "Go ye" must always be a "Go me" in sharing God's love with others - whether across the street or around the world.

Every believer has a testimony about why we love our Lord. That’s why we have the privilege of being a witness to others—so they can hear from our lips how much God also loves them. Whether you are a student, housewife, mother, man or woman on the job—you are surrounded by others. Ask God each day to fill you with fresh power and boldness of the Holy Spirit. He will direct you to others who need to hear the good news of eternal life.

The following thoughts attached to the Great Commission—from each of the 27 New Testament books—have enriched my life and my love for the Lord.  I gladly share them with you as together we "Go" to our world with the awesome message that "He's Alive!"

Don't merely read the key portion of each scripture verse that I quote.  Look up all the references in your Bible so that you get the full meaning of context.  We have used the New King James version of the Scriptures except where otherwise noted.

Matthew 28:18-20  Go with God's presence ("I am with you always")
Mark 16:15-20 Go with God's protection ("And these signs will follow those who believe")
Luke 24:46-49 Go with God's program ("repentance...should be preached in His nameto all nations, beginning at Jerusalem")
John 20: 21-23  Go with God's peace ("Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you")
Acts 1:8 Go with God's power ("But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me")
Romans 1:14-16 Go as a debtor ("I am debtor...I am ready...I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ ")
I Corinthians 16: 9 Go through every open door ("a great and effective door has opened to me")
II Corinthians 1:3,4 Go as God’s comforter of others ("comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God")
II Corinthians 5:18-20 Go as Christ's ambassadors ("we are ambassadors for Christ”)

Today's world is like yesterday's - corrupt and filled with the chorus of "Every person to his/her own god, own choice, own life-style." That's why we who know the Lord will not be popular and must be prepared to suffer when we declare: "There is only one God, one Savior and one way. The answer is not in Buddha, Confucius, Mohammed or any other man or supposed deity. Thus saith the Lord!"
Why do so few Christians ever carry a missionary heart for the lost of the world? Years of observation have caused me to see it's because our glimpse of the Lord is more a glance than the long look that awes us with His holiness and stabs us with our own filthiness.
What I have shared with you are not profound secrets. On the contrary, they are merely the honest lessons of life I’ve learned the hard way in how to witness to my loved ones, neighbors and friends when they don’t want to listen. Now go to work loving your family members and others like they have never been loved before.
