Lesson 182 - IF YOU LOVE JESUS, YOU'RE HIS AMBASSADOR! (PART 2)
By Frank Eiklor and the Shalom Team

The story of “missions” is not a New Testament theme. It goes all the way back to Abraham’s call to be the father of nations and Israel’s commission to be God’s light to the world. But when Jesus Christ came in fulfillment of prophecy, the Great Commission became the privilege and responsibility of every believer. The gospel is literally “good news”—the historic facts of the birth, life, death and resurrection of Jesus—and His offer of life eternal to all who trust Him as Messiah and Savior.

In Part 1 of this lesson, we began sharing scriptures and thoughts attached to the Great Commission from each of the 27 New Testament books. Part 1 took in Matthew through Second Corinthians. In this second lesson of this 3-part series, we will being with the book of Galatians. Don't forget to look up each scripture verse.

Galatians 6:1-2 Go as the restorer of others ("restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness")
Ephesians 3:8-9 Go with unsearchable riches ("that I should preach…. the unsearchable riches of Christ...to make all men see")
Ephesians 6:19-20 Go with an unrestrained boldness ("that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel")
Philippians 2:15-16 Go as God's light to others ("shine as lights in the world")

I Thessalonians 1:5 Go as an example of your witnessing ("as you know what kind of men we were among ")
I Thessalonians 2:8 Go imparting your soul along with His story ("imparted unto you...our own souls")
II Thessalonians 1:11-12 Go to glorify only Jesus ("that the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you”)

Titus 3:8-9 Go sharing the importance of a new life and new conduct ("be careful to maintain good works...But avoid foolish questions")

Jesus said many would come in His name and deceive the hearts of the simple, sinful and proud. Eastern mysticism and meditation is a big thing in the gullible West. And one day a “world leader” will appear on the scene with the persuasion of a god and the heart of a devil. Jesus warns His children to know the Scriptures, live in obedience to the Father’s will, and stay alert to the signs of the times.
They laugh no more. Now God’s description of how He will destroy the old earth and create a new one makes perfect sense. The splitting of the atom turned many skeptics into believers. After all, look what man himself is capable of doing with the atom and hydrogen bombs. Now the fear is that nuclear weapons are being placed in the hands of madmen who wish to annihilate their enemies.
God has blessed man with incredible genius. We stand in awe as we watch men and women in a room full of computers and high-tech instruments guiding and landing spacecraft on distant planets. At that moment, we appear invincible. But then a mammoth tornado comes—or a terrifying hurricane—or rains that flood whole regions and never listen to our shouts to “Stop!”—or the shake that removes from under our feet any confidence or pride we carry, and leaves us numb with hardly enough breath to even utter the paralyzing word “EARTHQUAKE!”. And man is helpless in the face of it all!
