Lesson 247 - GOD'S RECIPE FOR REVIVAL THE REVELATION CONNECTION (Part 3)
By Frank Eiklor and the Shalom Team
INTRODUCTION
Never feel overwhelmed by the Book of Revelation. It’s the only book in the Scriptures where God promise a blessing to those who read, hear and obey the words written in this final book of the Bible. That suggests that Revelation is filled with commands and life-changing truths that pertain to your Christian walk today and not merely filled with difficult-to-understand prophecies about the future.
None of us have all the answers. God reveals His truth as He chooses, and often uses the most humble servants through whom He speaks. Those who write books giving “the final word” and even give dates for fulfillment always end up wrong. Then they write another book that you can by – if you have money to waste.
It is good to ponder the prophetic scriptures in Revelation and seek answers as to what the future might hold. But it is even more important to apply the commands, warnings and lessons in the book to how we live today. That’s what we are doing as we study the Book of Revelation to seek out its life changing truths and discover why Revelation contains God’s recipe for revival. That revival can take place now – in you and me!
CHAPTER 2
(MY REVIVAL KEY)
-
A Christian’s Greatest Loss (When Jesus is no longer our first love.)
“I know your works, your labor, your patience, and that you cannot bear those who are evil. And you have tested those who say they are apostles and are not, and have found them liars; and you have persevered and have patience, and have labored for My name’s sake and have not become weary. Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love.” (Revelation 2:2-4)
-
The Reward For Faithful Suffering (Be faithful to your Lord today and He will prepare you for tomorrow.)
“Do not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer. Indeed, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and you will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.” (Revelation 2:10)
(MY REVIVAL KEY)
-
The Martyr’s Call (Obedience to Christ requires sacrifice. A true believer is a faithful witness.)
“I know your works, and where you dwell, where Satan’s throne is. And you hold fast to My name, and did not deny My faith even in the day sin which Antipas was My faithful martyr, who was killed among you, where Satan swells. But I have a few things against you…” (These last words cause me to listen carefully to the Holy Spirit.) (Revelation 2:13,14)
-
The Importance of Good Works (Living for Jesus is a life of obedient action – creed plus deed, talks plus walk. Notice how “work” is used twice in this verse.)
“I know our works, love, service, faith, and your patience; and as for your works, the last are more than the first. Nevertheless I have a few things against you…” (Again, this warning helps me to beware of self, sin and Satan.) (Revelation 2:19, 20)
"Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ" (I Corinthians 11:1)

-
Christ’s Promise to the Overcoming Christian (We are being prepared not to float on a cloud but to rule with our Lord.)
“And he who overcomes, and keeps My works until the end, to him I will give power over the nations” (Revelation 2:26)
