October 2006
My Precious Friend,
I remember it like yesterday. I approached a home where I was to share the Lord and knocked. A boy of perhaps five or six years answered the door, took one look at me and ran back to his mother shouting “Mama, Jesus is here!! Jesus is here!!”
Was it the Bible I carried? Or had the lad seen me before in that same neighborhood sharing the love of Jesus? Whatever it was, that little boy taught me a lesson I never forgot. You and I are the only “Jesus” most people will ever see. That’s why we’re called “epistles (letters) known and read by all men.”
So what has Jesus been up to lately through His work called “Shalom”? God willing, as you read this letter, I will be returning from Argentina and many hundreds of young people. (More on that next month.) Then I think that I have a “holy hunch” that the battlefield called Israel will be next. Offer now a short prayer for wisdom.
Then there is this miracle property in Wildomar for headquarters and home. Just a mid-priced house on a small lot can cost from $400,000 to $450,000. God gave us two acres, home and garage for $299,000—on a hill that even building inspectors say offers the finest view around! People already know it as “the lighthouse on a hill.” Our hope is that small groups of Christians who are desperate to love and serve Christ will come to be taught and go out to teach others.
Again, breathe a brief prayer for God’s blessing on this place.
Last, I want to tell you that Les and Dorothy Berriman and Don and Norma Winton are retiring after 19 years on the Shalom board. God has filled the vacuum with younger brethren each of whom has enormous talents and burns with a fire to love God and exhibit His Son to Israel and the world. Give another short prayer for God to accomplish miracles through this team.
Until next month, keep trusting the Lord. The darker the night, the brighter the stars. The greater the storm, the more wondrous the rainbow. There’s a harvest out there—and we aim to reach it! Your prayers and support make it happen. Your love gift this month is needed and so appreciated.
Thanks for caring,
Frank Eiklor
P.S. Please throw away our old Oceanside address and use our new one in Wildomar.
