The Action Report
July 2007

Hi My Dear Friend,

Amazing, isn’t it? As long as time endures, they shall endure, Israel! The Jews! The only part of the entire Bible – Old and New Testaments – where you can’t find the Jews – are the first eleven chapters of Genesis. From Abraham on (chapter 12) through the book of Revelation, God gives them their birth, defines their purpose, blesses their obedience to Him, punishes their rebellion, annihilates their enemies, preserves them for 4,000 years and blesses those who treat them with love! The Jews! Israel! Incredible!

Their story reads like fiction. And God has made me a part of their story during my own lifetime – some of those years in blindness, some in ignorance and the last almost 30 years greatly involved in their welfare.

The story in brief:

A) I was born in 1936 (yep, gettin’ old!), three years after Hitler came to power with the intention of erasing Jews from the earth. Jews had no homeland and were easy targets and scapegoats worldwide.

B) I was 12 years old when Israel became a nation (1948). From that year until 1956, I couldn’t have cared less about the Jews in my pre-Jesus teenage years.

C) In 1956, Jesus Christ showed me His reality while I served as a US Marine in the Far East. Studying the Scriptures showed me another reality – a people called Jews whom God used to give me a Savior and a Bible.

D) From my transformation until 1978, I witnessed to Jews as I did to Gentiles. Jews were still being targets of anti-Semites and Israel was fighting wars to stay alive. I did nothing to defend them because I was taught “God will take care of them. They have to suffer, but all will be well in the end.”

E) That all changed in 1979 on the East Coast when I awakened to a simple truth – love is more than just a word; it’s action. When I stood up for the Jews who were receiving threats, swastikas and raw hate, it was off to the races. High media visibility meant a high profile that brought me threats from the bad boys and both applause and some vilification from clergy. One pastor called me God’s enemy for defending “unsaved Jews whose only hope of being saved is to suffer” (the devil’s dark-ages theology all over again!)

F) I dare say from 1980 on, we led in the battle against hatred of Jews and Israel. Ours was not mere talk but a rush to the side of Jewish victims in order to protect their bodies, homes, and synagogues from modern admirers of Hitler.

G) My message was always one of “unconditional love.” No one was forced to accept Christ, but all (Jew and Gentile) had to know our love in action was from Jesus. Jewish young people were asking the question: “What changed your life to make you defend us?” Some in Jewish religious and media life demanded that I say that Jesus is not for Jews. When I insisted that the real Jesus is for all – Gentile and Jew – word went out through the Jewish leadership grapevine “Close down Eiklor.” I told them, “You can close me down, but I won’t close you down. Jesus won’t let me.”

H) From then until the present, Shalom continues to teach Christians worldwide to never let their Jewish neighbors or Israel stand alone. I also teach them never to water down the fact that the real hope of Jews, Israel or the world finding that elusive peace in the heart is in Jesus Christ. And I warn all Christians never to hide the beauty of Jesus under a bushel in order to win points with Jew or Gentile.

Through your prayers, you continue to help keep us true with a clear conscience toward all as we let the real, the compassionate, the living Christ show through us. Through your financial support, you provide us the practical means to put this witness to work across the USA, Israel and the world. I hope you can help us again this month.

Seeking His approval,

Frank Eiklor

I faced it all in the late 1970’s and 1980’s. We took our stand to awaken the Church to God’s heart for the Jews. God gave me a 4-fold charge to challenge Christians far and wide.
Yes, my thoughts had been many when that little bird fell helpless at my feet. I thought of Jewish eyes that had opened to see the loveliness of Jesus. But what about all of those who live and die without the revelation that the greatest Jew who ever lived has abolished death and guarantees life and immortality to all who trust Him?
The mission field is where people are. And people are everywhere...
