Dear partner and friend,
“You're the most dangerous man in America to us Jews.” My Jewish friend was smiling, but he was dead in earnest when he added, “Every time we Jews or Israel stand alone, you always come to defend us. If more Christians start acting like you, we might all believe in Jesus. Then we won't be Jews anymore—we'll be Christians.”
Now it was my turn to smile and say, “You'll still be Jews—fulfilled in your Jewish Messiah”. That day will forever remain in my memory. One thing I know, the more intimately one loves the Son of God, the more we will love the apple of God's eye—Israel and the Jewish people. His compassion for the physical family of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob is woven throughout Scripture from Genesis through Revelation. The promise of a sin-forgiving, heart-transforming Messiah follows the same trail—Genesis through Revelation.
Over 300 Old Testament prophecies say, “Here He comes”, while the New Testament says, “Here He is!” And the “I AM” of Exodus utters the incredible “I AM the way”; “I AM the resurrection and life”; “I AM the door”; “I AM the good shepherd”. And then the bombshell; “before Abraham was, “I AM”.
Jesus cried real tears over Jerusalem. He, of course, could see ahead the ruin and suffering of those He came to save. But He also saw their restoration and softening. I carry some of His tears around the world as I instruct followers of Jesus to love their Jewish neighbors. Let no one harm them. Let Jewish people know you will always be at their side no matter what it costs. Uncon-ditional love. Offered in Jesus' name. And given whether or not it is welcomed or appreciated. It's just Jesus being Jesus—in you and me.
Someday, I won't be called “dangerous” by my Jewish friends. I always remind them, “You can recognize Him now—or know later.” But Yeshua is still the One—and He loves you with the Father's everlasting love”.
You and I must be living examples of that love. A steadfast friend of the Jews—especially when other “friends” run away. Staunch opponents of anti-Semitism and its demonic face. Comforters of Israel who visit her, if possible, and who care. And never hiding the fact that the only sure solution to this world's spiritual pollution is a God-breathed revolution of the real love of the real Jesus.
Your prayers and financial help are so important this month. We hope to hear from you.
May God bless and use your life,
Frank Eiklor`
