March 2010
My special friend,
It's already March! Can you believe it?! A good time to tell you that Shalom is "marching"
on. Straight ahead. Onward. Upward.
I confess that when I
approached 70 years, I figured ministry would slow down. Fewer doors open. Less pressure. More modest needs and expectations.
But God!! It's like He said to Norma and me, "No
retirement chairs for you. It's
time to go to work!" I thought,
"But Lord, I thought I was already hard at work." Then I understood better why God did not want me to pray,
"Lord, make me better." He wanted me
"deader not better". So that Frank
was out of the picture and Jesus could just take over.
Then he opened the door
wide to the East Coast. Once there
was no turning back, only then did our Father test us as Norma was "911'nd"
into the hospital. Eventually, a
12" cyst was removed from her abdomen.
There were times I thought she would die - but the Lord said
"Live!" And instead of open doors,
it is as if God has torn them off the hinges.
I believe the Lord has
prepared us-and spared us- for this moment with years of "Moses' experience"
that the younger generation of "Joshuas" is crying out to receive. The Church
needs to complete reaching the world so that we can see the King return to take
His bride to the Promised Land.
So we need you more than
ever. Argentina, Israel, Spain and
Peru are already in the 2010 plans.
Cities across America await the Shalom team so that we can mentor leaders,
train disciples and evangelize the hungry and searching. But I need more friends to hold up my
arms and those of my team.
In the past, I have
spoken and written so little of our financial needs to do the job. But now I must. One by one, many of our most loyal supporters
have gone to be with the Lord.
Some were at our side for nearly 50 years! We miss their prayers most of all. And losing their financial help has been extremely tough.
I'm boldly seeking new
soldiers to stand at our side.
Perhaps you are a "Moses" like I am - with years of walking with Jesus
and wanting your final years to count big for eternity. Or perhaps you are a "Joshua" - like I
once was, and you want to put more of your prayers and resources into seeing
lives changed for eternity.
(Other side, please)
Can I ask you to join
Norma and me - and Shalom? The
cries for help come from everywhere. "To the Jew first, and also to the
Gentile" was God's heart through Paul. It burns in me day and night. I will
never pressure nor beg for funds.
But I will tell you that we will welcome your prayers and financial
support with an undying gratitude.
That's it! I've shared what I believe to be God's
heart. I leave the rest with the Holy Spirit and you, my friend.
Trusting the One who gives the
call,
Frank Eiklor
P.S. Have patience with
us as the team continues to man the office on the West Coast which frees me for
front line action. Your receipt and our thanks will come from there - but I also
want to write personal thanks from time to time from the East Coast to you who
help.
We plan to move our
office soon to a more permanent location which will be under the supervision of
our new Vice President, Walter Contreras.
I'd love to be in touch with you personally if and when you need special
prayer or counsel. Just give me
your phone number and I'll give you a call. We care about you. We love you! Hope to hear from you soon.
