Maryann and God's Perfect Timing
Day to day, year to year only God knowing what comes next! I'm no prophet, but three things I know for a certainty.
1) Islam will not eradicate Israel. There are many Arab Christians who love Jews. They recognize God's ongoing covenant with Israel and pray that Jews also will recognize their Messiah. Then there are Arabs and other Muslims who hate Israel
and call for her destruction. They are forewarned by God's terrible
decree: "For thy violence against thy brother Jacob shame shall cover
thee, and thou shall be cut off forever." (Obadiah 10)
2) No peace plan will bring God's fullest blessing to Israel-whether that plan is offered by men or the devil. The hope of Israel
resides in the acceptance of Yeshua-Jesus-as God's greatest gift to His
people. God offers no other option. Jesus' own words to Jewish
leadership ring clear: "Your house is left...desolate. You shall not see
me henceforth, until you say, 'BLESSED IS HE THAT COMES IN THE NAME OF
THE LORD.'" That day is coming!
3) True Christians will face persecution and great testing
of our faith. Those who learn to keep trusting the Lord even in the
darkest trials (when God seems a million miles away) will serve as
lights and witnesses to people desperately seeking peace and meaning to
life. They will not be impressed with our strength-but with the love of
God that comes from us even when we are at our weakest.
Like
precious Maryann. She handled our monthly Shalom mailings for many
years. Maryann always listened to me share God's love, but it never
seemed to register. A few weeks before a recent Christmas season, she became ill. When I
called, she was like a little wilted flower pleading for water. After
all those years of Maryann seeing our lives and feeling our love, she
asked Love itself-Jesus-to be her Savior and Lord. We were all
rejoicing. But God knew the urgency and the timing. Within a week,
Maryann died!
Please
keep this work in your prayers. Your concern and support are so special
to us. Lives are being changed-and each, like Maryann, will live
forever.
In His love,
Frank Eiklor
