In Spain and Beyond, People are Tired of Mere Religion
"Europe
is dead! Hard! A corpse! Europe is ripe for the anti-Christ and nothing else!"
Those words have echoed in my ears and even spilled from my mouth for many
years. But no more!
Shalom V.P. Walter
Contreras and I returned a while back from a place that the Apostle Paul tried to reach but
couldn't. Spain! The youth conference was held in the mountains near Alicante.
We preached. Taught. Counseled. Poured out our hearts day and night. Would they
be God's Joshua Generation for Spain? Would they be God's spiritual
conquistadors who would reach Spain, Europe and the world with the power and
love of Jesus?
I gave the call and the march began!
Then
I gave the call and the march began. For three nights, young and older filled
the front of the outside theater and courtyard as they committed their lives to
Christ. The devil's drugs, sex, porn and prejudice were rejected and the old
rugged cross embraced instead. And to think this all began many years before in
Argentina when we challenged other young people to take their stand for Jesus
and reach the world. Gustavo and Fabiana
answered that call and went to Spain. I helped them plant the church up north
and now, years later, they were our hosts down south as the revolution of the
Spirit continues to spread.
People
are tired of mere religion.
And
what about the older generation? Many claim to be atheists and appear hard.
Then you show care and gently answer their accusations against God with His
love that has come to save, not condemn them. And then you see the truth. Most
people in Spain (and Europe) are not hard. They are hurt! In Spain, dead
religion has called for peoples' pocketbooks but is as lost as paganism. People
are tired of mere religion. Hurt by it. But those chords in hearts that appear
broken and hard can be restored and vibrate with God's forgiveness and love. We
saw it happen!
...pray for the great numbers of lives we touched
who said "YES!" to Jesus
Pray
for Spain. Pray for Europe. And pray for the great numbers of lives we touched
who said "YES!" to Jesus. Oh, and pray for our needs this month as we continue
to say "YES" to the Holy Spirit's open doors.
God
bless you and meet your every need,
Frank
