Hated by the World's 'Smart' People?
Think about it! No wonder authentic believers in Jesus are misunderstood, feared, mocked and hated (sometimes all at the same time) by many of the world's "smart people." "You Christians think you have a corner on truth and that your way is the only way. That's why we despise you."
We do not merely claim a corner on truth, but all four corners
Well, let's be honest. We respect all people in all religions. We love all people unconditionally, whether or not they ever embrace our belief system. And we will stand for justice for any individual who suffers injustice. But we cannot-indeed will not-back off from one fact. We do not merely claim a corner on truth, but all four corners, the whole house, really. When Pilate asked Jesus "What is truth?" he was looking Truth in the eye. Jesus forever drew the line in the sand with "I AM THE WAY, THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE."
For those of us bold enough to confess that Jesus Christ is incomparable, alive and returning to judge the world, God gives more than mere human arguments. He grants "mighty signs and wonders by the Spirit of God" (Paul in Romans 15:19) in our relationships with other people who are desperate for help and find it in Jesus. That is why there is no stopping the awesome wave of the gospel of Yeshua that is building to a worldwide tsunami.
...in Arab Bethlehem, one Arab Christian leader took me aside and said,
"We need your message of unconditional love in this city."
In 2011 members of the Shalom team and Bible students visited Israel. Our team felt the past footsteps of prophets, kings and our Savior and anticipated the future landing of the King of kings on the Mount of Olives. We also saw first hand that it is not easy for Jews or Arabs to love Jesus in Israel. Messianic Jews suffer from Jews and Christian Arabs from Muslims. In Arab countries it is far worse as Arab believers in Jesus pay in blood for their allegiance to the Lord. While in Arab Bethlehem, one Arab Christian leader took me aside and said, "We need your message of unconditional love in this city."
...the young "Joshua" generation
My great burden is for the young "Joshua" generation. Our worldwide school of leadership now numbers almost 50,000 disciples. Picture these being used by God to demonstrate His delivering, healing and saving power from Jerusalem to all nations. If you and I pray, God can do that...and a whole lot more!
