He loved God, but had no assurance of salvation
"I'll be bothering them.
He doesn't have time to talk to me.
I'd better not ring that bell."
So Mark began to back away from the door. But he was filled with such guilt and torment that he figured "What have I got to lose? I need help!"
He loved God but had no assurance of salvation
When I answered the door at our home in New Hampshire, there stood Mark with a face that showed both anguish and hope. This young husband and father unloaded his burden. He loved God but had no assurance of salvation. And those "after I die, then what?" doubts were killing him.
A couple hours later, he was at the door again-ready to leave. But what a change! Doubts gone, sins forgiven and new faith in Jesus Christ burning like the new creation he was. He became one of my special disciples during the Eiklors East Coast ministry, devouring the Scriptures and sharing Jesus with others.
A few weeks ago Mark called with big news.
A few weeks ago Mark called with big news. He sensed God pushing him to visit one of his older customers (Mark is a construction contractor). When he asked the man the same question I has asked him; "If you were to die tonight, where would you spend eternity?", the man had no answer. He was lost and needed a Savior. That's when my spiritual son Mark made me a spiritual grandfather as he led this man to the Lord. When he told me the big news, I'm not sure whose heart was bursting with joy more-Mark's or mine!
It is, after all, what loving Jesus is all about...
While this has happened to Norma and me all through the years and all over the world, it never gets old. It is, after all, what loving Jesus is all about: teaching others to teach others to teach others to...
As I write this, Mark and wife Teri have just arrived to spend a few days with us. Pray for them. And pray for all of the Holy Spirit's impact through Shalom across America and around the world.
Never forget, things of earth lose their value but...
...people last forever!
