THE LORD OF THE HARVEST CALLED....WE MOVED
Dear Friend,
Summer 2012 the Lord had me and a Shalom Team member in Argentina-one of the ripest fields in the free world. Many of you prayed for us during time as we shared the love of Christ in Patagonia and later with the youth of Buenos Aires.
I have preached, taught and witnessed in Argentina and Chile more times than I have remembered to count. Many hundreds-perhaps thousands-have accepted Jesus and His plan for their lives. Youth from broken homes. People with sins that had exploded their marriages. Miners whose buddies had been killed in mine cave-ins.
I shall never forget my journey into one mine. Would I have entered the darkness if I had known there would be an explosion a few months later that would claim many lives? Probably not. But as we walked deep into the mine, I gained great respect for miners and a terrible lesson that never leaves me.
Once deep inside, my guide said, "Turn off the light" (on my helmet). There we sat-in a darkness so total that I felt I could run my fingers through it. When we came out, Christ's call to "turn them from darkness to light and from the power of Satan unto God" gripped me like a heavenly vise.
God gave the open door to later minister to some of the widows and co-workers of those dead miners.
I love the Argentine and Chilean people. They are a proud people who respond to love that is real. And when challenged to follow Jesus-as we always emphasize the "Go Ye"-some have left their country to take the gospel across the world. They also have a great love for Israel.
We choose not to seek the funds from those who have little. Instead, they give it to the poor in their midst. And we take extra funds to bless pastors and workers who live on little.
Thanks for caring and sharing in this ministry.
Taking His light to the bottom of the world,
Frank Eiklor
