Lesson 146 - BITS OF WISDOM FROM AN OLD WARRIOR (INTRO)
By Frank Eiklor and the Shalom Team
A "Frank" Introduction
We started the St. Paul School around 10 years ago. Today’s e-mail student body numbers over 70,000 and we have faithfully sent two free lessons each month in English and in Spanish (some lessons included a number of chapters). Many subjects were covered in sufficient depth that called for more time in your studying, meditation and application.
Now I want to offer you a change—small portions—bits of wisdom this aging warrior has grasped over many years. The thoughts may be brief—but they have been very precious and powerful in my own life. I pray that they will also benefit you. So here we go—the first of many brief nuggets of truth from the fly leaf of my Bible—and translated by our faithful Cecilia Contreras.
WHEN MY PROBLEMS LOOK BIGGER THAN GOD!
I take a walk (like Enoch) and look up. The universe equals billions of stars grouped in uncountable galaxies. Just one, the Milky Way is where we live—and our solar system is an insignificant part—with our planet earth a grain of sand by comparison.
Just our one galaxy equals some 33 stars for each individual on earth. At the speed of light—186,000 miles a SECOND—it would take you 150,000 years just to get from one end of the Milky Way to the other. (That’s just our one galaxy!) In comparison, man’s best speed is 5 miles a second to escape the gravitational pull of earth.
“In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth” (Genesis 1:1). He also created YOU, with Christ’s promise “Lo, I am with you to the end of the world” (Matthew 28:20). So trust Him with your problems and your heart. Jesus didn’t die for the universe. He died for you!
"Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ" (I Corinthians 11:1)
