Lesson 249 - GOD'S RECIPE FOR REVIVAL THE REVELATION CONNECTION (PART 5)
By Frank Eiklor and the Shalom Team

INTRODUCTION

The Apostle John is the only one of the original disciples who did not die a violent death. Tradition says that a miracle occurred when the enemies of the gospel attempted to burn John to death in boiling oil. God preserved his life because John had a final task to accomplish.

His enemies thought they had isolated John when they banished him to the isle of Patmos. However, this was God’s plan in order to have John alone and able to receive all of the incredible messages from the Holy Spirit. The book of Revelation covers the important events that will take place in the final days before Jesus Christ returns to set up His Kingdom and rule. We learn many important truths that can make us better and more faithful disciples. Revelation is really God’s recipe for revival—a revival that should have no dying out in you and me.

I will emphasize with “MY REVIVAL KEY” the special scriptures that the Holy Spirit uses to challenge me to keep Jesus as my number one focus. In this fifth lesson, we will learn more of the recipe in chapters four and five.

Chapter 4

       (MY REVIVAL KEY)
• The Reward Of The Spiritual Climb  (Let’s take the following command as God’s daily call to study His Word and pray. We are seated with Him in heavenly places. Ephesians 2:6)
“And the first voice which I heard was like a trumpet speaking with me, saying, “Come up here, and I will show you things which must take place after this.” (Revelation 4:1)

       (MY REVIVAL KEY)
A 24/7 Life Of Worship  (Our privilege is to offer each day our adoration and praise to God—not merely for what He does, but for who He is. I love this definition of worship: “To worship is to quicken the conscience by the holiness of God, to feed the mind with the truth of God, to purge the imagination with the beauty of God, to open the heart to the love of God, to devote the will to the purpose of God. All this is gathered up in that emotion which most cleanses us from selfishness because it is the most selfless of all emotions—adoration.”—William Temple. Memorize the following words of pure worship and offer them often to the Lord.)
“Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, Who was and is and is to come!”
(Revelation 4:8)

      (MY REVIVAL KEY)
• The Reason For My/ Your Being Born  (We were created to bring pleasure to the Lord through our love and obedience. Isn’t this incredible?! Memorize this second “pure worship” verse and offer it to your Lord.)
“You are worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power; For You created all things, and by Your will they exist and were created.”
(Revelation 4:11)

Chapter 5

• The Lamb Who Is The Lion  (Hallelujah, the Lamb who is our Redeemer is also the Lion who is our Protector!)
“Do not weep. Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has prevailed to open the scroll and to loose its seven seals.” (Revelation 5:5)

     (MY REVIVAL KEY)
• The Glorious Result Of World Evangelism  (Jesus’ final order was for us to reach our world with the gospel. His love is for every person and we have the privilege and responsibility to introduce them to Christ. Here is your third scripture of purest worship to memorize and offer often to the Lord.)
“You are worthy to take the scroll, and to open its seals: For You were slain, and have redeemed us to God by Your blood out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation.”
(Revelation 5:9)

• The New Rulers On Earth  (Today’s rulers will be gone tomorrow. But those faithful to Jesus will reign with Him forever!)
“And have made us kings and priests to our God; and we shall reign on the earth.”
(Revelation 5:10)

    (MY REVIVAL KEY)
• God’s Greatest Call: A Love Relationship  (If we are truly in love with our Heavenly Father and our Savior Christ Jesus, we will often find our hearts overflowing with praise and adoration. Take time– make time—to be alone with God. His presence will be your reward! Memorize these two verses of worship and you will be led by the Holy Spirit to repeat them often to our wonderful King.)
“Worthy is the Lamb who was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom, and strength and honor and glory and blessing!... Blessing and honor and glory and power Be to Him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb, forever and ever!”
(Revelation 5:12-13)

“And war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought with the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought, but they did not prevail, nor was a place found for them in heaven any longer. So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down.” (Revelation 12: 7-10)
