We are to set apart the Lord alone - no substitutes for Him or additions to Him. A total relationship! He alone is to be our fear lest He lose that place in our hearts reserved only for God and we transfer that reservation to idols. A total reverence! He is to be held in awe-inspiring dread lest we fall into the trap of believing that God only cries over our disobedience rather than the truth that He often must crush it! A total regard!
Why do so few Christians ever carry a missionary heart for the lost of the world? Years of observation have caused me to see it's because our glimpse of the Lord is more a glance than the long look that awes us with His holiness and stabs us with our own filthiness.
Keep praying though others are playing. Keep giving though others are getting. Keep serving others though others serve only themselves. Harvest time will soon be here!
There are over 300 messianic prophecies in the Old Testament. We have only studied forty-three. We can now look back at many prophecies fulfilled in Christ’s first coming. But a future day will dawn when we will look back at His second coming and sing with the choirs of heaven to Jesus our King, “How great Thou art!”
Our last four lessons covered 33 prophecies that pointed to Jesus Christ’s first coming. Now let’s see how the earth will be changed when He comes a second time—just as He promised. The following fabulous prophecies await His fulfillment.
We who have experienced the new life God gives through a relationship with His Son Jesus Christ know that we can trust His promises to the end of life. But what a about those who have doubts about whether or not Jesus really is the Savior of the world and the only hope for sins forgiven and eternal life? Our loving God gives overwhelming proof of this fact through hundreds of prophecies concerning Christ’s coming—some of them thousands of years before His birth.
there are 333 prophecies in the Old Testament that deal with the promised Messiah, and of those 333 texts, 456 specific details of His life and coming…”. Only two prophecies fulfilled would be amazing. That would be like saying two thousand years ago, that Ronald Reagan would be president of a place called “United States” in the year 1980. And that the Chicago Cubs would win the World Series in 2016. See why the prophecies concerning Jesus are so incredible and faith-building?!
True Christianity is a faith built on a solid foundation of facts. Yes, you can trust the Bible. And you can trust in Jesus.
I do not believe in Jesus as Messiah because His life and claims offer a possibility that He might be the Son of God whose offer of forgiveness of sins and eternal life is real. I believe because I am forced by conscience to believe in overwhelming facts...
Too many Christians blow it by first making the decisions and then asking God to bless it. The Lord is not in the business of blessing wrong decisions and loves us enough to make us pay for them. Always make a mental note of the bad decisions you have made in the past so you don’t repeat them.
